Taking place in partnership with the University of Maryland in 2017, RISING helped create an event to discuss peaceful local communities.
In October 2017 a joint symposium, entitled RISING Baltimore: Managing Tensions in the Community, was hosted by the University of Maryland, Baltimore in collaboration with Coventry University. The two universities work extensively with their communities, albeit in highly different settings.
“Discussions were engaging and challenging.”
The symposium created the opportunity for community representatives, practitioners and researchers to explore the local contexts in which the two universities work, as well as their respective initiatives, approaches, successes and struggles. Discussions were engaging and challenging.
Ongoing collaboration
The success of the symposium is evident in the ongoing collaboration between the two universities.
